To discover in French the Maori culture through illustrated tales and documentaries.
All along my journey in New Zealand, I have heard and read many Maori tales which allowed me to get submerged in their culture.
They really brought me to a better understanding of their way of life past and present, their relationships between people and with the native environment. So after the travelogue book, La Terre Du Long Nuage Blanc was published, I felt that I really wanted to go further with the Maori culture.
At about the same time, my previous French publisher asked me if I would like to be involved in a new book project. This one would relate Maori tales to documentaries about the Maori of New Zealand. That’s how I found myself making the illustrations of this book which is now part of the new collection Tam Tam at Editions Reflets d’Ailleurs.
